Death is not a subject anyone likes to think or talk about but it is inevitable. Every living sole has experienced the passing of someone. Reinventing life in the case of a child’s death, or a disabling trauma of a close loved one or yourself.
Have you heard about parents that divorce after loosing a child or about others that grow closer and even go forth to help others in similar situations? The divorced couple perhaps had no clue how to help each deal with such intense pain. Maybe they could not reach out to each other or
others for help and understanding. For a parent surely there could be no greater pain than loosing a child.
What about the couple that grew stronger? Loosing their child caused the same depth of pain, no doubt. Yet, they took the worst scenario, built positive outcomes, and drew strength from each other. Moreover, some move on to benefit others based on their experiences.
Of course, both cases are simplified, regardless; the basic premise is life changing and requires extraordinary endurance and personal strength.
Choosing the positive road reinvents paving a path to acceptance and healing. Reaching out to clergy, friends, family, or a trained counselor is the course that works for some. For many creating a new life is best.
What is most important is to heal. Allowing the grief process, patience to accept and redirect the agony is crucial for you and all others that love and care for you.
