Boat owner ship seems increased now than say twenty years ago. With that increase, maybe racing also became more popular. Although humankind always craved more speed and higher performance in just about everything, the tag ‘Extreme’ evolved in the 21st century.
A writer on the blog website http://www.imgoingboating.com/2009/05/05/your-boat-racing.html calls boat racing an extreme sport. That seems quite appropriate. He did not tell us what kinds of boats race but then we probably do not need to know that quite yet. The point of the article is more about the racing mind-set than the hardware or technology used by boat racers. He cautions that…person, boat and water have a close-knit relationship and is where all focus needs to be.
