Most people are taught to go to college, graduate and get their degree, and then go out and start a career with the largest corporation they can. They enjoy their new responsibilities and higher pay for a while, but then burnout starts to set in. Most people become dissatisfied with the repetitiveness of their job, their co-workers are getting on their last nerve, and their boss is one of the most inconsiderate people they have ever met. They suddenly begin to realize they hate their job.
The benefits of leaving corporate America vary from situation to situation. Some people desire to leave corporate America because they want to be their own boss. They want the flexibility to work when they want and rest when they want. Although it takes plenty of self-motivation, leaving corporate America and working for yourself is very rewarding. You can make as much or as little money as you want to depending on how hard you choose to work. You can take a vacation any time you want. You don't have to worry about being stuck in a cubicle for seven to eight hours a day doing the same thing over and over.
The best thing about leaving corporate America is you can schedule your life around what is most important to you. For most people, that is their family. You can attend your daughter's dance recital or your son's academic bowl and not have to worry about finding someone to work in your place. Lastly, you don't have to answer to anyone but yourself.
